Abstract

Processing of dead bodies, parts of carcasses or products of animal origin into feedingstuffs falls under an intensive official supervision. In this way it is guaranted that infectious material from animal disposal plants or other production units is sterilized in a safe way and a risk from these products is not expected when used in animal feeding. The meat and bone meal produced in Germany has a high hygienic standard and is regarded to be safe.
